The Quest is a great game.
I got an iPod recently, and was craving an in-depth rpg, as close to Elder Scrolls as possible. I could care less of the graphics. I tried Infinity Blade and stuff, loved it, but it wasnt what I wanted.
I came across "The Quest" and was very interested. I bought just the main game. I was in shock of how much fun I was having. Reminded me so much of Elder Scrolls. New players to it will catch on quickly.
Controls:
Dont play horizontally. Its much easier if you play vertically with the button controls on. Its pretty easy to get used to like this.
Graphics:
If you are expecting Infinity Blade graphics, then this game isnt for you. Its a 3D game, but the visuals are drawn out, so in a sense it is semi-3D.
If I show my friends the graphics, thats what seems to be the let down. I actually like the graphics. They are very well drawn and the style is cool.
Map:
I myself havent explored the whole map, but its pretty big lol. Its cool because you can buy other quests for the game that can be added on to the hugeness of this game. I havent yet tried an add on yet though. The terrain is flat though, so dont expect big mountains to explore. You can go in caves and under the ground though.
Combat:
Its turn based combat. It really isnt a bad thing once you get used to it. The combat system makes you and lets you think. Make sure you train before you fight hard monsters or people, you WILL get frustrated.
Level-up System:
Its a pretty cool system. Gain exp from defeating enemies, or doing quests. After reaching a certain amount of exp, you level up, and have the ability to choose what specific things you want to improve. Very similar to Skyrim in a sense.
Card game:
Whenever you go to an inn, where you can sleep or buy food, you can also play a card game in which you can bet and get money from. Its a very simple, take turns card game, in which you want to deplete the opponents HP. Its very fun and a good way to make money in game.
Quests:
This is the last thing I am going to go over, mainly because I dont want to give everything away, and so I dont seem like a nerd haha.
The quest are cool, and there are many of them. You have a main quest, which is like the objective of the game. It is not required to complete, similar all the quests. You win money, exp, or fame by completing them. Occasionally you will win an item. They can be vague at times, which can be difficult, so make sure you read all you can.
I hope this very long review helped you out. Watch out for the occasionally mature items in the game. It is a great game.
